Children's Illustration Course De-Brief


Children’s Illustration Course Visual Update & Resolution

I’ve finished and passed my short course in children’s illustration at City Lit…who woo.
It was such a pleasure to do something I truly love and get feedback and direction. 
The projects were fun, teacher inspirational and encouraging and I meet some talented and interesting people. 

Homework / coursework summary: 

  • Children - sketching, research and create characters
  • Monsters - collage, sketching, research and create monster for different ages
  • Animals - field trip (zoo/back yard); develop characters, illustrate for Cornelius story
  • History - children's book illustration, 
  • Working on final spreads for exhibition



I wanted share my final project and final character studies. For the final show/project I focused on a story/fable called Cornelius by Leo Lionni. See below, feedback or comments most welcome.
